Outdoors

The Sonoran Desert in and around Scottsdale holds many treasures unique to this part of the country. Day hikes can be taken up one of the many trails of Camelback Mountain that borders Scottsdale on the west side of town. Some of the most elegant homes in all of Phoenix can be viewed on the drive to or on the hike up the mountain.

Beautiful Saguaro cactuses pepper the desert and hillside of the mountain and will amaze hikers with their size. From the top of Camelback, the entire city of Phoenix and its many suburbs can be viewed and can almost wholly capture the expanse of this vast metropolis.

Dining

Scottsdale has some of the most elegant restaurants in the valley. Whether you are in the mood for the prime cuts of Ruth Chris Steakhouse or a quick local Mexican burrito from Filiberto’s, Scottsdale has a taste for every palate.

A favorite of locals is Roaring Fork at 4800 N. Scottsdale Road. This restaurant has an eclectic menu with items like green chili mac and cheese and frozen huckleberry margaritas.
